...a diy post punk band formed in January 1979 in England. The Funboy Five were a 4-piece, led by Mick Sinclair, who'd briefly played bass for the Vice Creems and guitar for the Anal Surgeons. An April '79 demo earned the Funboy Five a Peel session, which they followed up with their classic single "Life After Death" b/w "Compulsive Eater"-the latter inspired by a tabloid item about a prisoner who ate his way through bedding, lightbulbs, etc. after being left unattended in his cell.
